DESCRIPTION

GMATICS is a SME born in 2017 that integrates satellite monitoring, aerial/drone surveys, geo-spatial databases, and Artificial Intelligence, to create digital models of reality (Digital Twins) for improving the management of cities and critical infrastructures (transport, energy, TLC) and addressing the effects of climate change underway. We are searching for a mission-oriented Data Scientist to join our forward-thinking, innovative team of developers and entrepreneurs.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You will implement research and development activities for Earth-observing data mining and machine learning algorithms, work with clients across multiple industries to build custom analytics solutions for their businesses, and collaborate with the product team to translate use cases into feature requirements.

You’ll be building production-grade analytic pipelines that transform pixels into insights.

Responsibilities

  • Build geospatial AI/ML solutions to solve technical challenges for our clients

  • Collaborate with the product development team to convert client use cases into roadmap requirements

  • Research and apply cutting-edge deep learning computer vision algorithms to remote sensing data

  • Process structured and unstructured data to create data pipelines for machine learning use cases

WHO YOU ARE

Required

  • Experience in data mining and analysis using common programming languages (such as Python, Java, and SQL)

  • Understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and mathematical modeling

  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude

  • Experience using version control for collaborative software development (e.g., Git)

  • Ability to work independently in a collaborative, dynamic, cross-functional environment

  • Bachelor (or equivalent degree) in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, natural or social sciences, or other relevant quantitative fields

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Experience with ML frameworks & libraries (Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Scipy etc.)

Desired

  • Experience working with Earth-observing data and GIS data processing methods

  • Experience in the deployment and monitoring of predictive model

  • Familiarity with container platforms such as docker

  • Familiarity with cloud environments

  • Knowledge of Dask, Ray
